Eco-inclusive enterprises are vivid examples how the private sector plays a significant role in implementing the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda in East African communities. Already we have seen how successful eco-inclusive enterprises are meeting local challenges around clean energy, climate friendly agriculture, waste and recycling whilst at the same time raising living standards and creating new opportunities for women and young people. Capitalising on this success and increasing the sector’s size and impact will require stakeholders to work together to ensure that key stumbling blocks like tailored business development support and financing are addressed.
The SEED East Africa Symposium will bring together enterprises, policy makers, business development service providers and further key stakeholders from Uganda and Kenya. Jointly we will explore approaches and cross sectoral partnerships essential to the incubation, consolidation and replication of locally led eco-inclusive business models in order to successfully contribute to green growth and sustainable development in East Africa.
